During a steep uphill, a signal is sent to the intelligent assist system to increase power. On a rolling downhill, the system sends a signal to shut down the motor to save energy. On a flat surface, once brakes are applied the motor shuts off in 10ms, that’s faster than a blink of an eye. Part of the intelligent assist system are 5 different modes that you can use (Leisure, Exercise, Commute, Climbing, and Manual)

I purchased the e-Switchy 3. The installation was challenging.
1. While my Trek bike has dropouts, the front wheel would not drop in. We had to file the metal dropouts in order for the wheel bolt to drop in. 2. Once that was completed the brakes had to be adjusted to fit the new wheel. 3. My bike cables run along the bottom of my frame. So, we placed the controller on the top-side of my frame. 4. My seat frame is not long-enough for the battery to be attached as it runs into the bike frame. I have a carrier on the back of my bike. I strap the battery to the carrier with velcro. 5. My handle bars are wider in the center than they are at the handlebars. So, my LCD mount slides keeps sliding, right to left, even though it is screwed tightly. Still working on a work around for that. 6. My front tire blew the first day before I rode it. Major hole in the inner tube. E-Switchy refunded me $’s for a new tube. 7. Set-up with the WePower app was easy.
Once I got past the installation challenges, the bike works great. I actually run my bike in manual the majority of the time with either a 0% or 5% boost. If I need more than that for hills, I just switch to ‘Commute’ mode in the app while going uphill and then return to 'Manual'. The battery has lasted longer than I anticipated, though I do try do use it minimally, if it is windy I’m using it.
So, while the installation was frustrating. I was able to keep my same bike, my same bike rack, the bike weighs less than other traditional e-bikes and was much less expensive.
My two enhancement requests would be: 1) for a way to lock the battery to my bike and 2) change the LCD display to mph. This currently isn’t an option. The WePower app offers mph, but not the LCD display.
My friends come over more often since I added the e-switchy wheel to my bike and went electric. We take turns riding it around the block. Each time someone new shows up with a friend of mine. I would like to think it's me, but I honestly am convinced it's my electric bike.. I am not jealous lol
I turned my bike electric and now it is my ultimate me time. I take it for long rides to process and decompress my week. It's so relaxing, it makes me focus on just letting some fresh air in and clearing my head. I don't even have to paddle.
Got a Switch Three electric wheel kit - actually two kits. One for my wife one for myself. I installed both kits in less than 1 hour. It is so easy. The first ride around the neighborhood was a pleasure. Very pleased to got it. Great product.
I needed an electric bike to go to work but they are so expensive. I discovered the e-switchy kits and I actually converted my own bicycle into an ebike just by replacing my wheel with an electric wheel. I can't believe how easy it was and with a fraction of the cost. I am getting 77 miles range on the battery! I love it! Amazing product!
