Based on recommendations from various sources including a thread on Reddit, I decided to purchase the Switch One for my Giant hybrid bike. Although this wheel with its wireless controller would easily be a 5-10 minute job to install, my particular bicycle presented a few 'unique' issues with fork spacing, or should I say a set of extra-wide fork shock housings.

After struggling to get the wheel to drop into the fork, I was able to consult with E-Switchy through opening up an e-mail support request and get the kit installed.

So... Here are the plusses:

1. E-Mail support responded very quickly, and we worked through my issue until it was resolved! One of the absolute BEST support mechanisms I've ever encountered!!! 11 out of 10!
2. You may have to install the locking washer between the fork and wheel to provide the extra space I needed in my case... And yes, E-Switchy signed off on that!
3. There's a spacer that sits between the wheel and the disc brake they provide. In my case, I had to remove that spacer, and use the shorter screws to 'move' the disc away from the fork to prevent rubbing. Although not preferred, it too was an acceptable 'modification' that allowed me to get the wheel into my fork without issue.

Now for the challenging part. The remote control with the thumb throttle takes up a lot of real estate on your handlebar. This was a challenge for me because my 9-speed gear change mechanism is a dual-lever system (up/down shifts) and the throttle lever was impacted by the placement. Perhaps a re-design of the throttle to be a thumb button on the rotating throttle collar would avoid this issue!.

Ultimately, I got everything working and in-place where I can comfortably use it... let's just say I'm very happy with the solution, even if it take a little bit of extra work on my part!

I think the biggest takeaway is that this company goes above and beyond to support their product, and for that I give my highest recommendations and respect!

Thoroughly impressed with the engineering that went into this product. The kit includes everything you could possibly need for installation (including zip ties). The initial spin around the block was thoroughly satisfying. Unfortunately, the documentation is lacking with numerous typos. Their web site takes you to various scattered YouTube videos, each containing different pieces of (very good) information. The name of the setup app is not included in any of printed information. That being said, customer service was excellent and I’m very satisfied with the product so far. The battery in the Switch 2 is cleverly shaped like a large water bottle. The overall effect is the kit is designed to NOT look like an e-bike. Unfortunately, the battery would not fit on my wife’s bike (my fault), so I had to bolt it onto a rear bike rack. It still worked fine.

I installed the switch three kit on my tandem bike. I made a simple bracket to mount the battery to one of the three water bottle mounts on the bike. My wife and I are a senior couple so it makes the hills easier for us. I think it works great.

Nothing else beats this amazing conversion kits. I am heavyweight, pulling cargo and do a good amount of uphill. Works like a champ!

We used this setup for burning man. Worked flawlessly. The bike it a citizen Miami folding bike. We pulled the fork apart a little with our hands and added the included washers. In 10 mins we had a fully function electric bike that works like a charm, plus even with the e switchy the bike is still way lighter than a normal ebike, and it folds. Very pleased with this purchase. Considering getting a second one for next year.

Thank you very much for your product , the S2. So, now I can happily be with my bike back on the road after many years that I could not bike it due to many hills around. I am no longer worried of the hills at all. I am so happy for that. I had a little trouble to install to my bike which is a race bike. But, the customer service did give me some good tips and after doing a research, I was able to install it. I can not describe enough how good this S2 is. It saves me thousands of dollars to buy a new racing electric bike.

I like the lighter weight battery and motor of this kit. My whole bike weighs only 32 pounds and fits in with my camping gear easily. I have another super nice e bike but it’s huge with 4 inch tires and weighs about 80+ pounds. I love them both. 😊

Love this, makes me feel in control. I also have the thumb throttle and both work great in different ways.

Definitely enjoying e-kit addition to my MTb.
The addition of the extension bar made it incredibly easy to attach LCD screen without removing grip nor brake lever. Also allowed to adjust throttle lever at a more accessible spot.
Well thought out kit. Easily installed and exhaustively complete.

The motor works well, the battery is long-lasting. The Bluetooth LCD throttle will shut off if left in the direct sun for a while (overheating) so if you don't install the manual throttle as a backup, it's inoperable. I can't get the LCD to change from KM to miles, but otherwise is good.

I purchased the type 2 kit (700c) for my Felt cyclocross bike. It works exactly as described. It takes longer than 5 min to convert the bike if you use the LCD screen but who cares. The only issue I have is the LCD speedometer is only showing KM not MPH. I have contacted customer support and they are sending me a new one. I weight 220 and using this with only the throttle i get about 22 MPH on flat ground. I will switch my review to 5 stars once I get the new speedometer. If you want to use an existing bike as an Ebike i highly recommend buying this kit. It works very well.

Love the reading for available power left on battery!!! Also is it normal for charger to hear up after charging battery. Only charged up 45 minutes and it was quite warm.

Install a little more difficult than planned with having to use shims and adjust disk brake placement but well worth the extra effort. Wife loves getting gout in the evening to get fresh air now and easily conquers gradual slopes. Can't wait to get on our local Rail Trail.

These kits are great & are very easy to install. Use the instructions but if you normally work on bicycles you don’t even need them. Anyway, the only issue I have is I can’t get it up to top speed. I am a heavier rider at 252 lbs but the power it puts out is very impressive for someone of my weight. I really hope E-Switchy continues to innovate, grow & maybe make a stronger motor and/or battery for us heavier riders. Thank you & I really hope you guys continue to grow.

I’m impressed how easy it is to install & how easy it is to use. I wish it had a little more power since I am a heavier rider (250 lbs) but you can’t beat this kit. It’s at a very good price. My top speed so far is at 24 mph. That was exciting. I’m sure I can get it up to its maximum. Thank you E-Switchy!

Good correspondence back and forth. Throttle works great . Came in two weeks to Florida. Was confident in it arriving the whole time.

Installed the Switch Two on my Kona commute bike and after a week of rides I absolutely love it. Opted to installed the cabled thumb throttle for minimalist simplicity. Lets me dial in a little (or a lot) assist for getting up to speed after stop lights, or slaying those two hills. The water bottle style battery is secure, easy to remove, easy to charge… I go 10 miles a day and usually recharge it every other. Definitely recommend : )

I’m not a robot. This is the best conversion kit I have found after much research. I am super impressed with everything about my purchase. I would recommend e switch to anyone. The set up was super quick and very simple. I’m considering purchasing another one.

After trying E-Swytchy for a little while, I'm happy with the kit. It's a front hub motor in a really light road bike so that I'm not wrestling with a heavy bike which is nice. I weigh 190 so the bike's top peddling speed at a top gear is about 20mph which I'm fine with. It makes it a funner ride overall and I'll be converting a gravel bike next so E-Swytchy stand by for me ordering another kit soon.
